Sarah Loewen, BBA, MBA is a fitness professional and educator with over twenty years experience teaching classes and training hundreds of fitness professionals in Canada, the US and the Caribbean. She has trained in the Ashtanga and Iyengar Systems of Yoga as well as the STOTT and Balanced Body methods of Pilates. She is a BCRPA registered Trainer of Fitness Leaders, and has also completed numerous certifications in Post Rehabilitation, Weight Management, Senior’s Fitness, Kickboxing, Indoor Cycling, Sport Specific Training and Adapted Fitness. She has taught extensively at the College and University level in the areas of management, leadership and business. She is studying Human Development at the doctoral level while completing a post graduate certificate in Evidence Based Coaching and integrating this work into her classes and one-and-one sessions
She is best known for her boundless energy, enthusiasm, client centered compassionate approach and her unwavering commitment to Fitness as a profession of significance. Currently she teaches, trains and conducts fitness professional certification courses out of her studio in beautiful Shawnigan Lake, British Columbia, Canada.

In my studio…
- My classes are all about you. I strive to provide you with exactly what you need to be the best you can be. I promise to provide a warm welcome and ongoing support.
- I keep classes very small, maximum of six, so I can give you the attention you deserve. Its really Personal Training in a small group.
- I’m committed to helping you find fun in fitness. I know that’s what will keep you moving. Plus, Laughing is a great abdominal workout.
- The quality of my classes and one on one sessions is really important to me. I’ve worked for more than 20 years to refine my instruction. I regularly attend training all over North America so I can bring you up to date well researched techniques as they emerge.
- My integration of Yoga, Pilates, Fitness and Coaching ensure you get the best bang for your buck in every single class and one on one session. I draw on a very large toolbox of techniques so you never feel bored or stuck.
- Not a moment is wasted. I select only the most efficient and effective exercise and equipment. I want you to see, and feel, results.

In my own words….
My name is Sarah Loewen. I want to be able to say the words Fitness and Professional together and still have people take me seriously. I believe fitness has nothing to do with how you look and everything to do with how you live. When you move your body, you move your life. You go places. Physical activity creates momentum in all areas of life.
For 20 years I have preached the message, to anyone who would listen, and probably even those who would rather not, that we are created equally, albeit in varying packages. I have sought to redefine fitness, proclaiming it isn’t about an unattainable perfect ideal, but rather finding your unique personal best, advocating choosing activities for enjoyment, how they make you feel, instead of how they “might” make you look.
I have vehemently exposed fitness myths too numerous to list, desperately wanting to redefine what we think of as attractive, expanding our ideals of beauty. I have wanted all of us to be free to love ourselves in the moment, as we are, rather than using unrealistic fitness goals to perpetuate dissatisfaction with our current selves.
Inspired by a friend, I asked myself why was I driven beyond reason to take on such an enormous task? The answer was a long time coming, and it didn’t come all at once, but gradually unfolded until it lay in front of me. If I could change what the world viewed as beautiful in a woman, then maybe I could change how I viewed myself, that my expanded definition of beauty might then include me…
I have since discovered, try as I may, my view of myself has not truly transformed in a permanent sense, rather has continuously ebbed and flowed. Much like a child’s tower of blocks, my self esteem on some days is big and tall, and on other days is completely knocked down, but physical activity is now part of the self confidence building and enhancement process, not a way to berate myself.
I am sure I am not alone, so this blog, and my studio are my avenues for sharing my journey, and my 20 plus years of experience with you. My hope is that you might like to share as to, and together we can redefine what it means to be fit. We can create great joy through exercise as a key component to leading full, healthy, productive and meaningful lives.
